Learn about Fortune Plastics: A Hilex Poly Company

Hilex Poly and Fortune Plastics are proud to announce that as of April 2013 Fortune is now a part of Hilex Poly. Our integrated company has improved our ability to bring new and exciting offerings to both existing and new customers of Hilex and Fortune.

Established in 1955, Fortune Plastics employs hundreds of Americans that extrude and convert high quality polyethylene flexible packaging products in the four production facilities located in Connecticut, Tennessee, Florida, and Arizona. Fortune’s presence compliments Hilex Poly’s commitment to regional customers.

Fortune Plastics is one of the most experienced can liner manufacturers in the business, with an unrivaled distribution service network and an extensive product range for our customers in janitorial, retail, industrial, and food service markets. The integration with Hilex Poly will not only allow  the company to continue to service customers with can liners, small poly bags, healthcare bags, deli grocery and carryout items, supermarket items, foodservice products and industrial products through all channels of distribution;  it will also allow us to extend the Hilex Poly portfolio to our customers as well.

While each of the four Fortune Plastic’s production locations manufacture and stock hundreds of items for immediate shipment, a significant part of  the production is customized to meet specific customer needs.  Fortune’s printing capabilities range from one color/one side to four color/two side prints Linear low density hexene, super hexene, butene, high density, and metallocene are among the standard raw materials  that are converted in addition to additives such as EVA, antistat, color concentrates and other resin blends.

Joining the Hilex Poly award winning environmental stewardship program and flagship recycling facility in North Vernon Indiana is a natural fit to Fortune’s long standing environmental commitment. Fortune Plastics brings new sustainable products to Hilex Poly, such as recycled content can liners and our COMP-LETE™ waste bag. These products have been certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute are suitable for bagging garden and food waste. This product degrades completely in composting facilities to help reduce landfill waste.

Fortune Plastic’s integration with Hilex Poly is a continuation of both companies’ commitment to developing our reputation as the preferred national packaging solutions company, delivering innovation, service efficiencies, and sustainability to each customer.
