Celebrating Sustainability and Innovation in Indiana

A little over 10 years ago, Novolex opened its doors in North Vernon, Indiana, setting in motion work at the world’s first and largest closed-loop plastic bag recycling and manufacturing plant. As we celebrate Indiana’s bicentennial, we are proud that our work has been a part of this great state’s history.

Inside the plant, nearly 300 Indiana residents oversee and operate state-of-the-art equipment as it breaks down recycled plastic bags collected from retail partners across the country and converts them into brand new bags that shoppers are able to reuse and recycle. It’s all part of the NOVOLEX Bag-2-Bag® process. Take a look at our latest video to see how it works here in Indiana:

We’d like to thank our dedicated employees, retail partners and sustainable shoppers across America for making this achievement possible. Take a look at the infographic below for a peek at what our amazing North Vernon facility has accomplished in just one decade of operation—including increasing recycling 600% in the last 10 years and saving energy along the way. Imagine what we can do in decades to come.
