Sharing our Sustainability Stories in Washington, D.C.

As an active leader in the plastic bag manufacturing and recycling industry, I’m always looking for new ways to promote sustainability and recycling.

This week, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with several representatives from congressional districts in which Hilex Poly’s facilities are located. It was a pleasure to talk about recycling and the important role that the industry has played in supporting the communities of Congressman Luke Messer from Indiana, Congressman Mike Simpson from Idaho, Congressman David Schweikert from Arizona, and Congressman Glenn Thompson from Pennsylvania. We discussed the work that our employees do every day to improve overall sustainability, especially the smart use of recycled content in our products, and amazing stories and experiences from the hardworking men and women at our facilities.

The meetings were a true success—all four representatives were impressed by our sustainability efforts and were proud to know about our work to produce sustainable products here in the United States. It was an honor to represent the men and women of Hilex Poly, and I hope there will be many future conversations about the great work we are doing in the industry.
